The cambelt or timing belt is a rubber belt and like other vehicle components, your car’s cambelt will need changing at some point.
Your vehicle handbook will specify at what mileage the cambelt must be replaced. These intervals range from 40,000 miles up to 100,000 miles, and from four years up to six years.
If you notice obvious signs, such as cracking or fraying, the belt should be replaced immediately.
